Autistic therapeutic compression, made for a friend of mine. Its a known fact that some autistics like to be tightly embraced, its gives them a secure and comfortable feeling. An autistic lady herself constructed a box of wooden shelves to hold her tightly. My construction is a latex tube, one side closed. The other side is hold closed by the user of the latextube. In the mouth of the user is a snorkel mouthpiece with a gardenhose attached to it. The user inhales through his nose en exhale trough the hose. So there develops a suppression in the latextube. When the desired amount of vacuum is reached the user in- and exhale via the gardenhose. The self inflicted vacuum is quickly removed by letting air in trough the hose and by letting the upper part of the tube opens itself. I know of users who kept themselves for more then an hour in this situation. This shouldn’t be done without supervision of a responsable person!
